Human Resource Assistant

The HR assistant provides administrative support to the Human Resources Director on all personnel matters, including verbal and written translation for our Spanish speaking co-workers.

Responsibilities:

·       Provide Spanish translation and transcription for HR department and/or other team members as needed.

·       Prepare new employee files.

·       Assist with on-boarding process for new employees.  

·       Assist with new employee background checks.

·       Answer employee questions and requests.

·       Reconcile benefit statements.

·       Assist with Payroll processing.

·       Assist with processing disciplinary actions and terminations.

·       Assist with preparation of performance reviews.

·       Assist with recruitment and interview process.

·       Schedule meetings and interviews as requested by HR Director.

·       Perform clerical duties including copying and faxing documents, filing, correspondence preparation, answer phones,

        correspond via email, direct mail to proper departments. 

·       Assist in organizational training and development efforts.

·       Assist with employee engagement events.

·       Performs other duties as assigned.

Competencies:

·       Ability to speak, read, write, and understand both English and Spanish.

·       Ability to accurately translate individually or for a large group.

·       Ability to maintain confidentiality.

·       Ability to identify a problem, gather information and resolve the problem in a timely manner.

·       Ability to prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently and develop realistic action plans.

·       Ability to adapt to changes in the work schedule and environment as well as manage competing demands.

·       Ability to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.

·       Ability to observe safety and security procedures including the use of equipment and materials properly.

Requirements:

·       Must be computer literate with proficiency using MS Office products.

·       Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or 2 years’ experience desired.  

·       Experience with HRIS database would be beneficial.

·       Above average customer service skills required.

·       Pass background check, physical and post-offer, pre-employment drug screen.
